| 2007 - August - The Happening |
DoubleD sends me a clip from the local paper claiming that M. Night Shyamalon is filming "The Happening at a truly greasy spoon down the street (don't ask). I showed up with my camera and Chester. I knew that, at the moment they saw Chester, they would yell "The Dog! - THAT Dog! - I have to have that dog in this movie!".
OK - so, that's a little extreme. They asked me if he could be refraining from barking during the shooting. I assured him there was no problem. Of course, when Chester wants attention, be barks at a pitch that could shatter glass. But no matter. We hung out in very sunless weather (note that I had problems with picture clarity since the telephoto and the amount of sunlight required slow shutter speeds). This was a day that they were filming outside the restaurant. I concentrated on Mark Wahlberg and M. Knight Shyamalon
There are two sets of photos below. The first set has the preliminary shots before the scene was shot for real. The next set is the sequence of events in the scene. Note that I was 90 degrees off of the camera angfle, so it will look much different in the movie. Well, at the very end of the shot, Chester gets bored. Notice Marky-Mark pointing in my direction - BAD DOG! After his yip, I was asked if I could assure he wouldn't do it again. I left with his tail between his legs. BTW - they didn't think the bark would be a problem since it was at the trail end. ... looks like Chester made it into the movies - GOOD DOG!
